Leading Collaborative Change

My strength as an educator and working professional is in respectfully engaging others in exploring innovative solutions. I support and encourage those who want to 'break trail' on the path of true discovery. And as an adventure guide and agent of change, I believe that carrying the right tools for the job at hand - that's rule #1. Here are some valuable tools that I have discovered along my way. And yes, they came from others sharing their story, their path with me.

The Six Principles of Values Based Leadership

Picture
  • Assume the reality of change     Leading Change, James O’Toole
  • Begin by changing yourself
  • Engage those closest to you
  • Ask questions. Then listen, and
       show them that you’ve heard

  • Provide an elevated, encompassing vision, common to all and well-understood
  • Create an environment of mutual accountability and commit to high performance

Barn raising: we're all stakeholders in the future

The TAO of Conversation, Michael Kahn, PH.D.
  • How the barn raising concept can work in a community setting

Other leadership and educational tools I have enjoyed

  • Chosen Tao Te Ching passages relating to leadership and power·
  • Learning to Listen, Learning to Teach,  Jane Vella
The Power of dialogue in Education Adults

Please be sure to visit my blog or contact me to share some of your 'tools of the trade.' I'd be happy to discuss thoughts you may have on these topics.
